Designed for the busy environmental artist, the Professional Edition lets you build massive worlds, faster.
The Professional Edition is also available in a convenient site-license to eliminate license-management hassles for your team.
Every core you own goes to work, on the build and in the viewport.
World Machine Professional can use the full potential of your many-core workstation. Even with dozens of cores, performance scales efficiently.
Modern open worlds are far too large to hold in memory at once.
Break the world into smaller tiles and only the region in play has to be in memory, so the world can carry far more detail than the machine could otherwise hold. The Professional Edition eases the pain of maintaining these tilesets.

World Machine exports any world you have built as a tileset, with one click. Build any resolution you desire. Need 300 GB of data? No problem.
Tiled builds carry every datatype you need:
You can also load and edit your already-created tilesets with the Tiled File Input device. A multi-resolution caching system holds each set of tiles, so you can edit a world far larger than memory as though it were a single file.
Importing one is a single step: point it at any one tile and World Machine finds the rest of the set and brings it in, with either upper- or lower-left origin to match how your engine numbers them.

The real cost of a very large tiled build is the hours in it. That is exactly why a failure partway through used to hurt so much.
Features that help you work within World Machine and integrate with your process.
Put the 3D view on one screen and the graph on another. Workspaces remember which panel sat on which monitor and restore the arrangement next time you open the app.

Keep the entire edit history of your project in a session file on disk, maintained between sessions. Deep historical tracking and undo/redo, and you can keep the build results for those versions at the ready for comparison too.
Generate World Machine assets from inside your existing build pipeline. Script files drive world generation from the command line: resolution, world extents, or specific tiles, all controllable without opening the app.
Recent releases made this a real workflow rather than a hook:
