{"id":1185,"date":"2026-09-24T19:37:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T19:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.world-machine.com\/blog\/?p=1185"},"modified":"2026-09-24T19:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T19:46:08","slug":"september-notes-whats-next","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.world-machine.com\/blog\/2026\/09\/september-notes-whats-next\/","title":{"rendered":"September Notes \/ Whats Next"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first half of september was all about getting Build 4067 and its improvements and fixes out the door, as well as website changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is one more feature-build planned (4068) that contains a significant feature still missing from Dragontail, which is re-integrating the ridge breaking mode into flow restructure. That is almost ready &#8211; there were some edge cases to chase down and behavior to tune but it&#8217;s feeling and looking pretty good right now. I still need to finish finalizing its behavior and then make sure all of the various modes and inputs interact well together &#8211; the usual combinatorial explosion of settings that makes things more difficult to test and validate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re also getting very close to cutting an LTS build for Dragontail as we hit the end of the planned major features for DT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Looking longer term:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As mentioned on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.world-machine.com\/roadmap\">https:\/\/www.world-machine.com\/roadmap<\/a> , the primary feature goals for the following release are <strong>improved water devices<\/strong>, <strong>mesh editing support<\/strong>, and <strong>integration\/automation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But&#8230; the more I think about it, the more I think that those areas are each big enough, and seperate enough from each other, that they could be rolled out as 2-3 named releases rather than all packed into one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, all of the mesh editing releated devices need to go together, but there&#8217;s not any reason they need to be held back while I&#8217;m working on improved water systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This has the major benefit of keeping a steady cadence of useful releases which seems like a major win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do you think?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first half of september was all about getting Build 4067 and its improvements and fixes out the door, as well as website changes.
