Feature Release Soon

It’s definitely time to write a note to detail how things are progressing. The three major features below (multi-res, resampling options, and library I/O) are on track for a release very soon — I’m targeting end of this week for the the dev branch release.

There were some blocking items in their way that was holding everything up; some of them were code, some administrative, and the last one was figuring out how I wanted to deal with updates and the future development direction of World Machine.

The next post (coming shortly) will detail that and more!

Ben: Glad to hear you’re looking forward to it. I ran into one snag that delayed release another day but I hope to have it out sunday night/ monday

Great job so far… Don’t bog it down with a “fancy pants” GUI, keeping it clean and straightforward is the way to go. Keep up the good work!

I wish we would get Terrain Synthesis. There was something here many years ago about that but as now it is rather vague. Of course, new types of Erosion is always welcome. 🙂

Wooohohoww, greeeat newws indeed!!
I`m so anxious and curious about the new features and the way you implemented them. I enjoy WM sooo much.
And BTW, I just setup a twitter account and looked for world-machine.com and couldn`t find it. I`m a regular forum visitor, but even so, I would enjoy to get the news, or a blog post, etc. via twitter.
Thanks again for World Machine and for all your hard work.
Respect!

Thanks for the comments folks!

Just an update:

Doing some last-minute testing and validation of multi res and tiling interactions, which is why the delay from the planned last-friday release.
